Attaching corals to LR

So I've been slowly stocking my tank for awhile and have been trying to find ideal spots for various corals. Now that I have some of them in place where they feel comfortable, I'm wondering how I'm suppose to attach them to my LR. I understand there is a putty and epoxy or even super glue gel, but the corals i have are already on a small piece of LR.

Do I chisel them off the piece they're one and attach it that way or can i attach the whole thing to a piece of LR? Most of my corals are about 3-5 inches in length and almost completely cover the LR it's attached to except the underside.

One exception is my hammer coral. It's not attached to a piece of LR but i have him in the sandbed and i've found that he likes that spot ALOT. Do I just leave that one alone?

Thanks for the help!

You can just attach the rock your coral is already on to your existing aquascape.

Just treat the live rock chunk it's on like a frag plug. You just glue it to your rocks and eventually it will be all encrusted over anyway.

The best glue combo I've found is as follows:
Dab of superglue gel on the frag plug
dime sized ball of PC marine epoxy on top of that
dab of superglue gel on the ball of epoxy

Squish the epoxy ball onto your live rock. The glue does most of the sticking, but the epoxy molds to allow for a good surface contact, and once it hardens it also helps hold things in place.

i just use CA gel. No epoxy really needed. smear on LR first. dab on fresh cut coral. stick hold 20 seconds, done. looks better than gluiing rocks all over. encrusting ensues quickly

But if it's already on a rock do you break it off or what?

I don't break them off of whatever I buy them on.

Good luck! I am amazed at how the coral readily grow over either the epoxy putty or the supeglue gel.
