ATTN: ALL CVRC MEMBERS---New CVRC ID card and how it will work

This card will be issued FREE at the door in your "New Member Pack". You will be entered into our data base and assigned a number.
The card will entitle you to:<b>
Sell and buy at swaps
Enter member only contests
Participate in group buys
Get on the CVRC Chain Coral List
Get certain discounts at supporting LFS on select items (limited to participating LFS only)
Access special features and data and member only sites
And MANY MORE to be announced privileges</b>

Members will PAY NOTHING for this card, the card much like your drivers licence will be a "privilege" You will need this card when you come to meetings to buy, sell, enter contests. This will card will be revoked if you are found to violate any of the TOS regarding it's usage.

CVRC ID TOS

TOS is really basic and designed to protect the group from anyone trying to be disruptive, or counter productive to the benefit of the group in actual or online:

1. Any member found buying or selling at meeting without the CVRC ID will forfeit his/her card, In this case both buyer and seller will forfeit there cards and asked to leave.
2. Any member found buying or selling the "CVRC Chain Coral" will forfeit his/her ID
Any member blatantly disruptive to the group online or in "actual" will forfeit his/her card . However you will receive ample warning beforehand, and may petition for reinstatement.
3. Any member responding to a *Banned For Life member in this forum or the Official Forum will stand to loose his or her ID.
4. CVRC Moderators will have full rights to revoke, re-assign, delete any member IDs without notice or explanation.

* Banned For Life Member: Anyone who is found guilty of the following: (fighting, disruptions online and "actual", blatant disregard for Rules 1-3 will loose his or her ID and be determined by the Council and moderators to be "Banned for Life"

** Special note members are still free to have discussions & arguments as long as they are deemed "valid" to a certain point and remain "civil". If the post goes to far off track and becomes counterproductive or determining you may receive a friendly warning to stop or get back on track.


We feel these new rules though strange and scary looking will benefit and protect this group and allow us to focus on our goals and on growing the group into a more fun and productive environment for all to share.

We may be able to mail them as we have a few members OS who cannot make dates at times. They are still valuable members but schedules can conflict, we understand this and will address it.

Ron is secretly a fascist I think they are just going to imprint the ID's with a microchip, use them to track us, find out were we get all the good coral deals, cheap beer etc. Everyone! We must disrupt the plan! Before all hope for a free world is lost! I have a way to foil them. Everyone quickly, frag your best coral in your tank, give it to me and we can stop big brother in his tracks!!!!

Way ahead of you friend, your card will have a number, your number will be in a data base available at the door. You wont forget your card though its just going to look to darn cool in fact you will wear it proudly as your name badge at meets :thumbsup:

You will know because a list of Banned members will also be available on the site, you will also only be warned at first so don't worry to much about all that.

No there will be no direct payment, the cards will be paid for by monies from raffles and sponsor donations only.

Ron, would people who were wanting to buy frags and equipment have to have a card? I could understand sellers, or members making group buys, etc would need a card but I would think buyers would not need one. considering many of these people may just have came to their first meeting. I think making these new people get a card may scare them off until they know what it is all about.

I think the cards may be a good idea but I would not want to scare off new people. Who may think they would have to join with the communist party just to go to a meet and participate in its function.

No Phil, these browsers would not be True members ie card holders. They could buy just as freely as you do at a swap where you are only visiting. However if they decide they would like to join and get full benefits they may request a free Welcome Pack and ID which would allow them greater access at future swaps etc. They would not be able to sell frags or get in on Group only events until they did have this card.

You will note we are still hammering out all the details to how this will work. Once it's all figured out I will post the official Rules and Guidelines on our club site.

You could do the background with 100s of microshots of corals. Tiny photos all photoshopped together with a negative contrasting lettering on the CVRC part............. arrrgh if I could only remember how to post a photo on this page.
