Audible Alarm Ideas?

I would like to connect an audible alarm to my AC3. I know anything that makes noise will do, but I wanted to get something that anyone in my house would recognize as "not good". Any ideas on what to get and where to get it?

Jeff, I have about 6 of those if you need a couple just let me know.
I could have brought them last night and left them in the car and forgot to give them to you ;)

Thanks Kevin, I will have to make arrangements to get you that trap. I was pretty proud of myself. I MacGyver'd a home depot water alarm used the sensor for the switch and and adapted the alarm to AC and used it. So far so good.

I have loud powered speakers on my laptop that is connected to a Jr. The speakers are plugged into a DC8. On the laptop I have a sound of a WWII air raid sirens playing in loop, it auto loads on bootup. So anytime I get an alarm, the Jr. trips the speaker electricity on and I get WWII air raid sirens blasting. I did find out my neighbors can hear them. :p $0 if you have the speakers and a computer close. You can play any MP3 sound on earth for an alarm.:

home depot doorbell ringer, the metal bell with a hammer type, sounds like a old fashined phone contantly ringing, 10-30 volts, then just get a standard doorbell transformer add them up and your set $15 max and it will not scare the bejeebes out of you when it goes off!

Use a $5 smoke detector and a 9V power supply. Hardwire the "test" button closed so it will activate whenever power is supplied.

If you are using the x10 modules, it is very easy. several companies have packaged x10 modules that include buzzers all the way up to 100dB+ sirens, or stop at a auto parts store and buy a roof top gumball light and run that in an appliance module

Yep using an X10 for mine as well as my DC8 is busy with other tasks.
I got the door chime one, chimes once a minute when alm on.
