I have an 5" Aus Harlequin Tusk in QT for almost 4 weeks. Fish is doing well, very aggressive, constantly swimming, and eats a lot.
I have seen no signs of ich or other parasites.
I am debating on treating just in case. In the past, I have done a single 7 day treatment of Quinine Sulfate and then also separate treatments with Prazipro.
In the past, this worked with two banana wrasses (two males at different times) and most recently a V. Lion Fish. I still have the lion fish, but not the banana wrasse. I had gone through two (at different times) and after a 6 months to a year, my Red Breasted Wrasse (that I am getting rid of) killed them. So I do not think it was the treatments that killed them.
I have also treated a Niger Trigger, Bluethroat Trigger, and Hippo tang with QS and Prazi. The Niger was from Live Aquaria and died around 7 months after putting in display for no reason (just found him floating one morning). The bluethroat died and I think that was aggression or it went blind (I forget). The hippo I wound up getting rid of.
From reading the forums, I assume the safe bet is to treat. However, what to treat with what.
I am not sure if I want to try the TTM. I would need to go get some 20 gallon tanks, air stone, and heaters. So it leaves me back to QS.
Any comments is appreciated.
thanks,
Mike
