I would assume the workers and living costs are cheaper so the stuff collected sells to transhippers cheaper too. That savings is passed along the whole supply chain.
I do not think there is much of a difference besides pricing. I've had better luck with Indo SPS but then again, the only Aussie SPS i ever tried were enchinatas and those are pretty sensitive no matter where you collect.
By the nature of the cost of permits, it seems that the Aussie coral coming in is a little more colorful. However, some of the Bali/Indo pieces that I have received brown colored up nice!
If u want great color Aussie are great but it all ends up on the maturity and husbandry of your system! If you do not have great peramiters and starve your corals it does not matter where they. Cme from u will have average to poor corals, great lighting and great skimmer is a must also! IMO
