Auto top off options for 12 gallon?

Hello, im hoping to see some of your ato setups on your nanos. I searched, but didn't really see any specifics on setups. I know the tunze osmolator is a good option, but im hoping to be able to set something up at less of a blow to the wallet ha. Any input is appreciated, and links would be great. Thanks

Google "nano gravity ato" and you will see quite a few. The only problem is that most end up with a large water container above the tank which in my book is ugly. I find for my biocube I am the most affordable ATO.

A one liter soda bottle turned upside down in the back chamber works well for me. Just still a hole in the cap and a small hole in the side of the bottle where you want the water level to be. Works just like a cat waster dish and is free. The only problem is it only lasts a day on my tank.

or if you want to kill two birds with one stone look into marinedepot's deal on rklite with sl module all you need to add is a small aqualifter(15 bucks tops) and a float switch(10 bucks maybe?) and you have a control with ato hooked up to it!

im controlling two tanks with a rklite mainly just lighting and ato for the nano since its tiny and i think any water evaporation can cause a big salinity swing

Plus one on controller + float switch and aqualifter, you get the most bang for the buck with that IMO. A JBJ ATO is cheaper, but it's only an ATO and not a full blown controller.

IMO Tunze is boss of top ups, or elos.

But I would also go with the controler + float switches+ aqaualifter if money was an issue. RK lites are so handy for their cost.

I saw this method used once but you have to know how much volume of water is evaporated daily.
Buy a small vacuum pump (tom aqualifter), airhoes, and a digital timer. One airhose will go to your resovoir and the other in your tank it is small , easy to hide and works great. You set the timer to run for a few.minutes a day and thats it , probably 30$ altogether unless you have a timer already. I am using this same method for my dosing (b ionic) gl

I've used the Aqualifter and timer before. This way works good but you need to keep tweaking it as your evaporation needs change. I ended up buying a DIY ATO kit from Aqua hub that controls my Aqualifter. I have this on two tanks and it works great.
