Nice setup - I am just in the process of working all the auto top-off stuff out. THakns for the pics - By the way, next time I'm up at my parents I'll have to come visit - I grew-up in Springwater, Randolph is the last name, used to live at 7215 Canadice Rd - up by the Petersons and Schlueder's (sp?). My parents moved about a mile down the road towards Honeoye - big white house right after the curve - can't miss it.

ATO vacuum issue?

ATO vacuum issue?

Hey,
I found your thread and was wondering if you could help out a fellow reefer..
I have a vacuum issue in that the JBJ shuts off the pump but it still maintains a vacuum that could flood my sump. I travel quite often so I setup a 32gl can that holds all of my top off. the pump rest on the bottom and is plumbed with flex hose over the can and back up the tank stand before going into the sump. If you can imagine an "S" laid on its left side this would demonstrate the hose routing. I did it this way to try and stop the vacuum.. I have since drilled a small hole in the hose (out of the water but still in the bucket) to try and break the vacuum and it appears to have helped but it still puts more water in the sump than it should after the ATO (JBJ unit) switches off the pump.
Before I try any other steps I wanted to check with the RC community as I imagine someone else has had this or similar issue.
Thanks in advance!
Chuck
