Auto top-off?

Hey hows it coming with the ATO - I have a 75 gallon reef and I decided I did not want to add anymore pumps and just don't have the room so I built a 6 gallon acrylic tank that sits above my refugium that is connected to a gravity fed float valve. It has been in work for just over a year and works great. Recently I added another float valve to the acrylic holding tank and plumbed it through the attic, Works like a champ.

I just ordered a OCEAN REEF + 1 FIVE STAGE 75 GPD RO/DI
from the filter guys. It comes with the pressure gage and the TDS meter so I should be good....

Ok now I need to figure out how I'm going to store the water that I get. I should have bought one of those little tanks.

Just go anywhere that has a decent selection of "houseware" type items and find a garbage can that holds enough water and will fit where you want it. I ended up with an 11 gallon narrow shaped garbage can that fits perfectly and will topoff my tank for about 5 days.

Biger - do you use the new spectrapure ATO? I have been using a LM III for years for ATO, but i was thinking of going to the new spectrapure ATO with the dual sensors for my new tank build. One sensor is a pressure and the other is a float (backup).

The nice thing about the LM III is that there are no floats or sensors. You set the evaporation level and the pump hooks you up with that many Liters. No float to get stuck open.

This topic always makes me laugh, sure a DIY will work. But you spend $$$$ for high end corals and then put a $10 ATO to keep the salinity accurate.
