Finally getting around to putting together an auto-topoff system. I have the design in mind, and am planning on using the float switches recommended by Melev (from floatswitches.net).
Anyway, the reservoir will be in my basement, and I will need to pump up roughly 13-15 feet (if I have the reservoir on the floor, which is my preference).
Can anyone recommend an affordable pump that is designed for frequent off/on cycles, and can handle that height?
I hate to buy another mag 9.5 just for topoffs (13 foot head). I guess I could raise the reservoir up 3 feet and use a Mag 3 (10 foot head).
Also, I was only planning on using fairly narrow tubing (like 3/8 inch) -- how do I step the output of a 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch pump outlet down to that size?
Thanks!
