Awesome 12" Angler

Professional Lurker
I stopped in Saltwater Paradise in Fairview Heights today. They just finished acclimating the biggest angler I've ever seen. This thing was easily 10-12" long. Supposedly even Shed Aquarium was interested in this thing but the supplier had already sold it to the shop. Of course, not for sale, but cool to see.

The picture doesn't do it justice.

The owner was out getting some feeder fish for it when I was in there. I was really disappointed the I couldn't hang around long enough to see it eat.

Rock is on the left. Angler is the whitish purple rock on the right and behind of the rock on the left.

What's the chances of keeping that fish alive in captivity? I wonder how old it is and what their lifespan is?

I would be curious of the age too. I've seen some references that said their lifespan was 20+ years. I hope it does well for them.

Commerson angler fish - their actually pretty common but hard to sale so rarely ordered plus the males are known to eat the females. 38cm max size.

It was sold when I stopped in to see it yesterday. It sold Friday. I was kinda sad as I wanted to see it in person.
