I have a question. Recently, my horses gave birth and now I have those new offsprings in a different tank.

I understand the care requirements for them.

My question is:

Most of them are just laying flat on their side and I do not know why. Is that bad or are they just tired?

I believe the species is erectus or kellogi.

This is probably not a good sign. Healthy fry that are at or near the bottom usually rest upright. I woud suspect that they are in a weakened condition.

Have you observed them feeding and can you see food in their innards?

Mine do that, but they are premature fry. Tell us your complete set up for the fry tank. Do you have an airline? Is it running very strong? What are you feeding them? etc.

I am sorry to say, but I think they mostly passed away.

I was not ready for the spawning and did not had a proper setup. In addition, I would be gone for a month where no one would be able to really take care of them.

The tank I had them in was a 2 gallon bucket with an airstone by the heater. The temp was kept around 77 degrees. The air was gentle so it was not roaring where they would have too much current to deal with. To avoid ammonia spikes or high nitrate, I changed the water daily, syphoning out all the nasties. The water was aerated with heater to match the tank. The salinity was at 1.021. RODI water was used.

What I had to feed them were frozen bb and frozen rotifers.

I think next round I will be ready. Are kellogi or erectus hard to raise? I did a search on oceanriders.com's forum and it seems to me like a 80% failure rate for kellogi, but not sure on the erectus.

Also would anyone know when they may spawn again? Some said 2 weeks other said 4 weeks.

I'm sure they died of starvation. Fry do not eat frozen, or dead foods. They need live, newly hatched baby brine shrimp. Erectus are considered the easiest to raise. Not sure about kellogi. Who is going to care for your adults while you're gone for a month? They will probably have more babies now. Most people have fry every 2 weeks.

Some species even need rotifers as a first food. Not sure about erectus.

Breeding frequency will vary between two weeks and a month. My kuda/fuscus breed every 17 days on average.
