Baby Clams

clams cant hv a baby. they could have many babies by releasing eggs and sperms around the same time. raising any kind of clam babies in captivity is very very rare if not impossible. i have never heard of anyone doing so in captivity.

Actually, clams are aquacultured all the time in industrial clam farms. . .it's just extremely rare (if not unheard of) by a hobbiest. I seem to remember hearing one story where it happened in someone's tank, but I don't think the new clams survived very long. I'm not sure if the event was ever really confirmed either.

They can and do spawn in aquariums, but little baby clams won't be popping out of momma clam's shell. That's not how it works for them.

I have a tiny, about the size of a dime, clam attached to the side of my crocea clam and I did not know if this was a baby or not.
