Here it is after falling from the mother colony.

That's pretty cool!! I can see one in mine but it hasn't come off yet, how long have you had the mother colony? my goni is about 2 years old and this is the first time I see a baby.

I got the mother colony from a LFS about 6 months ago. I noticed the buds about 2 months ago and I still have several others on it. It doesn't seem to have a time frame of how long it holds them. Guess its whenever its ready to let go. This first one was on the side of the mother so I imagine gravity had a little to do with it dropping. The others are more on the top.
Yes it is a stocksie(long tentacle). It's color has changed since I purchased it. When I got it it was a lot darker green, now it's a very brillant ,almost neon, green.
Maybe we will end up with a more tolerant aquacultured Goni for the aquarium. I think it would be great as they as such beautiful corals. Now all I need to do is get lucky and find a purple one that will do this.
