Baby Mantis

So I have been hearing this clicking coming from my tank. I devised my own mantis shrimp trap and caught two almost instantly.

The only problem is... they are only about the size of a pencil led! Could they still of made that loud of clicking if they are that small?

pencil led size sounds like pods to me. I think the clicking could be from something else. I would say you do have a bigger mantis in the tank or a pistol shrimp. What is the clicking like? is it rapid? or is it a few click every now and again?

I thought they might be pods too but, would the pods jump on the bait shrimp so fast.

Are pistols just as bad or worse? I thought they were basically the same.

I have a cleaner shrimp... wouldnt he be dead by now?

No pistols are fine. Mantis can be OK, but will usually desimate your invert population if they are smashers, like most are.

ive never had a problem with my pistol he just follows my goby around. As for the pods they probably would jump on the shrimp because i used to have a pod pile and every week i would drop just shrimp in there for them to eat. So i would say yes they are pods and a pistol.
