At what size can you stop bowl feeding?

IMO i have two maximas and i've never ever bowl feed them. Both clams doing great. I just put food straight to aqarium. Sometimes i shut down skimmer but not every time.

When clam is 4" you don't need to feed it.

I would not bowl feed as well as more often then not clams die from choking this way. Just feed the tank and 3 inches is a good way to slow down on feeding but not stop feeding IMO.

Doesn't it stress them out moving them in and out. They like to be left alone no?
