My LFS has got 1-1.5" baby squamosa clams for sale for $19 that I'm really tempted to buy, but I'm nervous about it because I know how hard baby clams are compared to adults because of all the feeding they require and such. I have a 4-5" crocea clam now that has been doing well since I got him a month ago, so I know my lighting and water conditions are good enough for a squamosa, but I've never had to feed clams before. Should I give it a try? If so, what should I use to feed? The guy at the fish store said I could keep it in a small tupperware container 1/2 full of sand and that way I could lift it out of the tank and add phyto to the container to feed it and then put it back in when its done eating. Does this sound like a plausible idea? Any input/opinions are welcome.
