Back again With a New Name

I started a thread awhile back about starting up some clownfish tanks and a 375. Well a couple kids later here i am. I couldnt remember my old name but anywho, Im back. I am in the process of setting up the 375 gallon tank right now. With out any snags this build should be complete by fall time! I am open to any suggestions on this tank as far as lighting, filtration, etc....

I am going to be needing help since it has been about 10 years since i had a tank this big.. I am going to use what i know as far as the basics, but i am sure there is bigger and better stuff out there now than from when i had my big tanks set up! I still have a 40g breeder set up with a pair of clowns just so i didnt go completely dry, but it is now time to get this big one set up!

Also tank dimensions are 104"x30"x30". I am trying to decide right now what all i am going to do for filtration, lighting, etc. What i want in the end is a mixed reef, clams on the bottom etc.... Mainly i like LPS and Soft corals, just because of the movement, but also do like keeping some of the SPS as well. I am leaning towards going with 3-250mh with Lumenarc reflectors.. I am trying to get the room done right now and as soon as i get this done i will post some pics and updates.

Great dimensions! If I did it over again, I probably would've gone 108L x30W x36H. I think that is the largest that could've fit in my room.

I get my fish from all different sources...LFS, fellow reefers and online.

I'm pretty sure the wall color was Sherwin Williams Tempe Star. My wife was anxious with how dark it is when I put it on the wall, but it turned out perfect for the room.

My initial plan for lighting was 2 400W metal halides on a light mover. I bought everything and then decided I wanted to go LED. My lighting still isn't up. I need to get air circulating through my canopy before I install my lights. I currently have 2 gen2 radions waiting to get mounted. Initially, I'll still use my light mover and I'll probably purchase a couple more radions down the road.

What do you have for a protein skimmer?

LOL i just got done reading your thread and man oh man what luck....When i had my 210's set up i never used a QT tank and never lost a fish....Knock on Wood i had lots and lots of tangs, but anytime i noticed something i would feed NLS Thera food and wham it would dissapear... This time i am going to set up some tanks though, that now i will never have to move again! Where online i mean.. I see Liveaquaria...I was talking about the Fowlers and the fish like that! I am thinking about doing a LiveAq order this summer as it will be warmer! I had 2 orange shoulder, 3 Purple, 2 Yellow, a mimic, a regal, a unicorn and a 2 naso's in my 210!!! Never lost a fish from disease!!!

I've used Liveaquaria exclusively for my online orders. You really can't beat the 14 day guarantee which I've unfortunately have had to exercise a few times.
