After a long hiatus of just maintaining our downgrade to a 50 gallon tank we are now looking to upgrade to a nice 120ish. (It will fit my stand that I built better) :fun4: Plus I need something to do this Fall/Winter I suppose.

I will be upgrading the sump from a 20G to a 40G that I bought at the last Petco sale - that's the easy part. My question is: What are the hip and cool tank brands out there now? Also price ranges if you happen to know and I will most likely want a glass tank.

Here are my spec needs:
* Reef ready with single overflow in back right cornerish.
* Min. Dimensions: 4x2x? I know a 2' tall would be a standard 120G but not sure if I want that - hard for my "shorty" wife to reach anything. :rollface:

Have you thought about getting a plain old Aqueon (was AGA) and drilling it for a Glass-Holes overflow? Any tank made with annealed glass would be fine, and the bottom could still be tempered. A 1,500 GPH overflow kit comes with two 1.5" bulkheads, so it can safely handle more flow than most "reef ready" tanks that are commonly available. That said, I'm really starting to like the rimless look that's becoming so popular.

Anywhoo... this is our 50G as of yesterday.

Also - we've been talking about going a little bigger - as in 225G+ bigger.. so we'll open a build thread later this winter when that happens. :bounce3:

I've run fine with much less than that "guideline" in all of my tanks over the years. What you see in my 50G is all the rock that I have in the system. I typically run ~.5lbs of rock per gallon. Leaves more room for pretty stuff!

Not at this time - But... I'll keep you in mind if we decide to sell any. Most likely all of it will go in the bigger tank.

Plus.. we'll be getting more this weekend at the swap!
