That's a nice start. As for the animal on the glass, I don't have a reference point for size, but it may be a hydroid.

I believe it is a hydroid, comparing it to the pics on google.

Any tips on Aiptasia removal? Never dealt with one before until now.

I've stabbed them and tried sucking them out.

If they're small enough and you get lucky, you can try peppermint shrimp, although I had a pepp chow down on a frogspawn a few years ago and vowed never to add them again! :lol2:

There are also berghia nudibranchs and others have had success with kalk paste, but you would need to watch for alk spikes.

I've had thoughts of adding a shrimp. I didn't know Peppermint shrimp eat Aiptasia.

aptasia choices:

1. squirt them with aptasia killer once a week...wont take long and eventually you will have them under major control but neverrrrrrrrrr willl you completely get rid of them using this method
2. get a filefish that eats them...he may kill them all off...depending on if you get the right fish and the right specimen of that fish...
3. get a copperbanded butterfly...worked best for me and ate every single one of them in a 300 gallon system I could not believe it! They never came back..shocked heck out of me.

I would not get to excited about them...they are very easy to control 2 minutes a week!

Supposedly they do, but I hear its pretty hit or miss. Some will eat aptasia, a lot completely ignore it. Kind of a case by case thing

Thank you for the awesome suggestions everyone! Now though I'm limited to fish, I have a 5 gallon tank. Would this Aiptasia killing spray harm anything else ?
