Hello fellow reefers.

I'm glad to be back on the SW (fish only) scene after a 5 year vacation with FW Cichlids but will be moving into reef tanks for the first time.

Background: 10 years of fish experience mostly in the FW area with a 1-2 year run with a Fish Only tank. Needless to say, I learned a lot from the Fish only tank that i will not repeat.

NO TAP WATER (my budget was non existent at the time)
ALWAYS HAVE A QT TANK
NEVER BUY A FISH ON IMPULSE (KILLED MY OTHER FISH IN DAYS)

Fast forward to now and I have the cash and the tank (220 gallon) to do the job right and setup my tank exactly as I would like it but I'm rusty on some elements of reefing and corals. I have about 8 months to plan the build and am now getting my equipment which i will outline below.

I'm looking for overall guidance on my:

Sump Selection: (trigger systems ruby 36S) (will it be too small?)

Drilling my tank: (what size holes do i need to drill? 1 1/2 or 1 inch holes for my size tank to get the right flow?)

Water tanks: where can i find them?

Skimmer: ATB 840v2 is rated up to 260 gallons.. (should i upgrade or will it do the job?)

Return pump: I know i will need a rather large pump but not sure what size I would need.

Tank Setup:

-220 gallon glass tank
-AI Hydra LED Lights
-Trigger systems Ruby 36s Sump w/Refugium
-ATB 840 V2 Protein skimmer (rated up to 260 gallons)
2 Echotech MP40s
2 Echotech MP10s
Apex Controller - Standard w/ Lab grade probes
piping for bean animal overflow system
Dry Live Rock (have about 200 pounds i've saved over time)

still need to purchase
Live Sand
Dosing pump ( will dose vs. calcium reacting)
Water change pump (Apex Dos for water changes)
Return pumps (leaning towards Pan world ut not sure what size I need)
RO/DI unit
Water Tanks
piping for water change station

Thanks,
