dude your systems so clean and polished. How slow do you run the flow for that media? I didn't know mag drives could be run In line.

Matrix reactor is still online but not reducing nitrate at all. I've tried slower and faster flow rates to no avail.
I would dose some bacteria. Look into the aquaforest line if you're interested.
I'm going to wait 6 months and learn how to use my dosers before I take on the challenge of more complex reactors like that setup. I'm confused just following this post lol. The media in the bottom that looks like granite gravel, is that something I can use in bags in the baffles of my sump? Not trying to high jack a super simple answers cool.

The gravel is just ARM calcium reactor media. Not good for media bags.
Did your nitrates ever go down with the matrix?
Have you tried changing where the reactor gets is water. As in some place with less or more bubbles? My matrix really kicked in when I got it into baskets.
How much Matrix do you use, and for what size system? I've got about a gallon of it in my system now (about 300 gallon TWV), but it didn't seem to make much of a difference. So I picked a sulfur denitrator ad plumbed the matrix in front of the SD reactor. Figure it has to help somewhat to use up any oxygen in the water before it gets to the SD reactor. Been running it like this for quite a while (a few years). But the reactor kinda gets to be a bit of a pain, have to check it every day, the outfeed valve seems to get some sort of buildup inside of it every few days. Forever having to readjust the flow.Did your nitrates ever go down with the matrix?
