That mag drive pump may be too much turnnover for the reactor. You want the water to turn over inside the reactor maybe 3-5 times an hour. On a system the size of yours it would not surprise me if you could bypass the recirculatiinnpump entirely and just let the water flow through the reactor.

I used to swear by the Sulfur reactors but ever since biopellet came out I think they beat the SD reactors in ease of use and scalability. That's as long as they are used in a recirculating reactor. It would jot be too hard to convert that reactor of yours into a pretty sweet recirculating reactor for biopellet a. I may even know a guy with would be happy to do it for you ��

I was thinking about making some sort of large reactor for it, say out of a 5 gallon bucket, and rigging it with a high volume blower, similar to what they do with the home made koi pond filters made from 55 gallon barrels. Rinse it with water changes. Turn the blower on, agitate the media to get all the crud off and send it down the drain.
