Bacteria infection question

Had a carpenter wrasse in QT for about 2 weeks then he came down with a nasty bacterial infection. White feces, cloudy eye, and a discolored patch on his back. I had a feather duster in the same tank, so before treating with Furan2 I removed the feather duster and placed it in another QT tank.

After 5 days of Furan2 wrasse is on the mend. Eye is back to normal, feces is fine and patch is shrinking day by day. However........

What do I do with the feather duster? I reset quarantine time on the wrasse so he's in there for a minimum of 5 weeks, but could the feather duster transmit the bacteria to the display tank if I add it?

Not really sure how the bacteria passes from host to host so not sure what to do, looking for assistance.

Seems like no one wants to respond to questions regarding bacterial infections. I posted a question here on the subject and no response yet. Not sure why. Maybe it was a dumb question, LOL!

The best way to fight a bacterial infection is to keep the water pristine and the fish very healthy and their immune system will take care of it.

Thanks, but that does not really answer my question. I'm assuming the fish had the disease before I purchased him. What I'm concerned with now is not transmitting it into my display.

I wouldn't worry on the feather transmission of bacteria, it will not create issues if water is kept clean and your natural bacteria is healthy

I'll try not to go into a microbiology lesson. Bacteria ("good and bad") is naturally occurring in all environments. It is not a disease. It will infect a fish if certain conditions exist; weakened immune system, a break of the integumentary system, poor water conditions, etc.
The water that is transmitted with the feather will not bring in any bacteria that is not already in your tank.
