So here I am patting myself on the back after browsing all the recent sales. First time in a few years I did not pick something up. Last night I was changing the carbon in my reactor and the reactor slipped out of my hand hit the concrete floor and cracked. Got home tonight from work and went to feed the fishes and thought the water seems a bit cold. Checked the Ranco and it is showing a bad temp sensor error. Two nights two orders, I feel like karma just kicked me in the arse and laughed.

Yeah just the temp probe for the Ranco. 14 bucks and will be here Friday.

I got this Ranco about 4 years ago. It has done a great job.

Did you put heat shrink over the probe? A friend of mine who owns a Saltwater service does that on all Ranco probes.

I did put heat shrink over it. I did notice when I pulled it out that the heat shrink had become loose at some point.

you put hear shrink over the probe itself? or the connection?

I put heat shrink over the top 1/4" of the probe and up over the connection/cable.
