Bag Of Cheato Left At Meeting

HI, I Assume this is a bag of cheato I overheard someone say they brought. I have never had any and don't have a sump...what can I do to make it stay good for someone? Who left it?

Just find a corner for it to wedge into and it'll be fine. One warning with that is that unwanted critters could be in the chaeto (you never know)... Depends on how anal you are about additions and QT's.

not too worried , but I always thought you should not put this in the main tank....so I should just stick it in the corner of the main tank, near the bottom corner sand ok? Wish I had a refugium! I assume, however, that this belongs to someone so I want to make sure it gets to whomever it was intended for.

I brought the cheato, if who ever needed it didn't pick it up, just throw it away.

If no one claims it I can get it Wed. when I pick up my refractometer. Put some more water in the bag and it should hold fine until then.

You could always put in under a strawberry basket in a back unvisible corner of your tank. It would make a nice pod factory for your good looking mandarin you have.

Just to let you know. I have mini-brittle stars, bristleworms, and many different pods. I don't know of anything else I have at this time that would be bad.

OH...I have been fighting nudibranches in the main tank and don't know if they are in the cheato.....

If you want to put in your tank, fresh water dip it for about 4-5 minutes before putting it in your tank. That will kill off the nudi's.....

ok, took a strawberry container and did my first retrofit...hehe....cut small hole in side, took my clip that usually holds algae and fit it into the container with clip part outside container that holds onto edge of top of tank....worked great.....put in the cheato and now in water top of tank hanging on, hopefully releasing lots of wonderful goodies......however.....TitansFan and Angela both would like some...so I will split it up for both of you when you come.....but at least it is keeping good!

Oh I am fine! I was just keeping it from being thrown out! My 30 gallon fuge could always hold more cheato because mine just isn't growing real fast but it will get there when I put better lights up! I noticed one of my mandarins took a overflow ride and was gobbling up the pods in the fuge tonight. He didn't seem hurt and had wiped out ever visable pod I had. At least his tummy is full, but there went my breeding colony of pods! :lol:

Sounds like you made a nice little in tank fuge! And you will have a nice starter when you get your fuge up and running soon!
