the guys told me that sharks need meat to eat hence the pinkies and the shark has plenty of room. the tang is what im worries about. it obviosly is big enough if that is what the pet store had it in.
i also want to know what other kinds of fish will go well with my shark. and how much sea salts do i need to keep the tank up to

Your system is not adequate for the shark or the tangs. You need to get your priorities straight - set the system up properly before you add fish - the tank is too small. You appear to listen to the bad advice of some people who recommended the tank size and other fish but did not apparently give you any advice on filtration and other important aspects of responsible aquarium keeping. If you only have money to put in one powerhead how can you afford more fish? There is much wisdom on this board that is readily available to you but you have to listen - otherwise it is a waste of your time and that of others to respond to your posts.

A good thing to first do, besides rethink your stocking idea would be to purchase a few books from your pet store...Most people have found invaluable information on do's and don'ts of basic reefkeeping

I was thinking the same thing. Theres no way this post is real. No one can be that stupid.... I think imma go put great dane in a small dog kennel for its entire life.... WOnder how long it would life???

Aquarium Adventure is not a "tiny" LFS as you titled your last topic. They are a HUGE franchised company owned by Petland, Inc. Their store is actually quite a large store.

Seriously, I can't believe that the topic of this thread is real. It seems very much like trolling to me. Every few posts, the topic starter jumps in and adds a new, highly volatile comment; just trying to stir up more replies of "oh my god, no!"

sharkydude, if your situation is real, please heed the advice you were given. Read up on sharks and their care. Read up on why Tangs need at least 5-6 feet of horizontal swimming room. If your a member on RC, it doesn't take long to understand that you need more than a powerhead for "filtration" (a powerhead isn't even a filter). And it doesn't take long to learn how to mix and maintain your salt level properly.

If you're just trolling, well you caught some fish. Good job. But there are people here just trying to help, how about being honest with them?

A bamboo shark will get to be 40 inches in length. A 55 gallon tank is only 8 inches longer than that. Think about that for a minute. How is this fish even going to be able to turn around in your tank?

By the way, the term "troll" is used to describe a person who is posting for the sole purpose of getting other people angry or annoyed. While I'm not sure if you're "trolling" or not, I guarantee that you're going to get heated discussions about sharks in the hobby.

My personal opinion is that you need at LEAST a 6 foot or longer tank to be able to house a bamboo shark. And I wouldn't keep tangs with it. Eventually, any tang you put in there is going to look like a meal. Probably any fish is.

If you're "new to the hobby", start with some other fish first.
