Does anyone own this fish, or have own it?
It looks amazing.
What do you know about this fish?

You will never see it.

The latin is Belanopterygion fasciolatum. I owned one for at least a year and a half and saw it twice--the first day I released it out of the bag, and when I broke down the tank. I figured it had died but it was fat and sassy and wiggling around in an inch of water when I drained the tank. They are extremely secretive and cryptic fish. The only photos you'll see of them in a tank are deep in dark caves with maybe their nose sticking out. Obviously they are very beautiful but they're a bummer behaviorally.

I had mine about 3 years. It became braver after the second year. Great little fish, hardy, colorful and unusual, peaceful. Only negative is the cryptic behavior. But still worth it, IMO.

Oh I see.
That's probably why people never post pictures of them... they don't know where the fish is hiding!

That's exactly what I was told about them. I saw one at the LFS years ago and was going to get it until I found that they hide almost all the time.

I happened to just buy one my fish store did dent know they still had it so they gave it to me. I just found out what type he is
