bangai laying eggs alone

i have a bangai cardinal for 4 years now, i thought it was a male, and last night, i saw a large pack of eggs, pink, all stuck together, on top of a rock, is it possible that it is a female and she is laying eggs even if there is no male to fertilize them..... in the tank is also a pair of breeding percula and a yellow clown goby..... the eggs were pretty big....

I think that could be what happened...I had a female that released eggs by-herself several times after her mate died (was eaten by a huge orbic batfish :( )

thank you for the answer, do you remember what the eggs looked like, mine were pinky peach, and seemed to be attached together by a thread...

De rien :) The eggs were a red-orange color and were hanging from the female; I don't recall seeing any threads, but they were bound together.
