This question has been answered many times I know but I still can't figure it out. How can you tell male from female??? Everyone says high fin is the male. however I have also heard from many people that this isn't always true.
I have 4 cardinals in two different compartments of my tank, and I have been trying to pair them up. Right now I have two cardinals that seem to circle each other and kind of chase each other around but I have never seen them nip at each other. I have also noticed that at least one of them and sometimes both of them will puff out their low jaw almost looking like they are holding eggs. Other times they just seem to hang out one in front of the other really close.
The other pair that I have seem to just kind of ignore each other so I think I have two females there.
Help me out here what do you think I have here.
