Banished to the sump!!

Well tonight i banished my first inhabitant to the sump. I kept finding one of my hermits on my Zoas. Every time i saw him on there i'd take him off and move him to the other side of the tank, but it seems that i've found him on one of my zoa frags everyday. If it were the same frag, i might think that maybe that colony was sick or something, but no he's been on all of them. At first i wasn't sure if it was the same one because a few have very similar looking shells, but tonight I had enough, i plucked him out and tossed him in the sump! Now if i find another hermit on my zoas maybe I'll rethink the prison sentence. Who knows maybe one day if he shows he has been rehabilitated he'll be released back into the display. Now i just have to make sure none of the other hermits send him cakes with files hidden in them.
But honestly do i need to put food in the sump now? or will he get by on the stuff that collects down there? I don't have a filter sock.

So anyone have stories as to what they have banished into their sumps?

well he's hiding behind the skimmer now, so i can't get a good picture off him, but he has brown'ish legs that are a bit fuzzier than my other hermits, if that helps.

I've experienced the same thing with my hermits and some zoas. At first I thought the hermit was dead since he was in the zoas for about a day and a half, so I moved him out and to my surprise he was still alive. I placed him down on the substrate and he eventually went back to the same spot in the zoas. I just left him there and he eventually moved on. The hermit didn't appear to harm the zoas, he must have found a snack in there or something.

There are a few troublesome hermits, but usually they just like to find a cozy spot, and zoas are cozy. Most likely he was just camping. Eventually the zoas get used to it and don't even close up when they are walking all through them. If he wasn't physically pulling the polyps apart, I would just put him back.
