Barnacle Blenny Question

Have 3 Barnacle Blennies which I have had for about 3 weeks. They have been eating well since the first day I put them in the tank. However, all 3 of them have not eaten anything in the last 3 days. They are all in their respective barnacles and are looking around, but just not darting out to eat. I have made no changes to the tank since I added them and all my water parameters check out. Have one other fish which is a clownfish and she is eating fine.

Any ideas on what would cause all 3 Barnacle Blennies to stop eating at one time?

Thanks!

If you can get your hands on some live brine give that a shot. I have had 4 of them for some time now and they all eat like pigs. They are the most entertaining eaters that I have ever seen.

I'll try that. It's really strange as all of mine were eating like pigs for weeks. Than they all stopped eating on the same day!!

Thanks!

That does seem weird. Any other changes to the tank? Perhaps do abig water change just for good measure. Any pics?

Possibly learned something here. I do not have any corals in my tank so I was not using the tank lights. I was feeding with just the room lights on. Everything was going well with the Barnacle Blennies.

About a week ago, I installed a controller on my tank to allow me to control timing of lights, temp, etc. Was getting ready to put some corals in the tank over the next few weeks. At this time, I started learning to program the controller and started turning on the tank lights at 9 AM and turning them off at 3. Just basically testing to make sure that I had the programming down.

It was after about 3 days of having the tank lights on during the day that the Barnacle Blennies stopped eating. I was feeding them at night with just the room lights on. I'm off today so I decided to try and feed them this morning with the tank lights on. They immediately started eating like pigs!!!

Does this make sense?

Thanks!
