SO i just upgraded my 29g sps reef to a 80g cube all the corals are looking great, but I want a few opinions on my fish stocking. In your guys opinions would 5 bartlett Anthias fair well in this size of a tank? There is a lot of open space in the water columnm as I'm leaving room for my sps to grow. just would like to know if this is a good idea or if I should downgrade to chromis (which get bigger).
Thanks

I have three barletts in my 220 gallon and I can't see five of them in a 29 gallon. I also have a school of seven chromis. I'd go with them for that size tank.

caorca, Paco11d wouldn't be putting the anthais in the 29. Their going in the 80 cube, correct?

While I've don't have any experience with anthias I would say 5 in a 80g would be ok. What other fish would be in there with them?

Barletts are beautiful, btw. Good choice.

He said that he has upgraded to an 80gal cube. Don't just go by the sig. It depends on what other fish you have in there with it. I could see it happening if you don't have too many other fish.

other fish include 2 false percs, 1 royal gramma, 1 pj cardnal, 1 6-line wrasse, 1 lawnmower blenny, and 1 scooter dragonette(sp?). It a really peaceful stocking list and everything gets along well. The anthias are the only extra fish to be added in the upgrade, well maybe a dracula shrimp goby and pistol shrimp if I can find them.

Haha thanks for standing up for me while I was away. And I couldn't even keep the chromis in my old tank I tried lost three in a week just kept pacing the glass and swam into the anemones.

the problem is nothing swims in the top half of the tank, the rock only goes a little over half way. So there's a bunch of fish on the bottom and no one on the top. just looking for a little balance. The cardinal goes up there OCCASIONALLY but only for a few second before he gets skidish and darts into the rock. I really would like to stick with my 3 inch max stocking list and the chromis will get pretty big, and the blenny will be moved to a friends tank. Unless I get to attached to him he does have a lot of personality but 6 inches is a bit much for me.
