I just found what appears to be a basket star that appeared on my gorgonian. He seems to be growing, and opens up mostly at night. How big will he get, I only have a 65 gal tank?. Thanks!
They get quite large on the order of a few feet across in the wild. Yours probably won't last long though unless you have massive amounts of phyto or zooplankton for it to filter feed at night when it comes out.
