Battling low alk and ph

So guys my tank is 125 with 20 g sump. About a year ago my tank crashed and over the last couple of months I've been slowly getting back on board. Well I just tested water. After doing a 30 gallon water change( I've done to 30 gallon water changes in the last 2 months) a lot right after my tank crashed. But I couldn't figure out for the life of me why my Xenia won't grow whenever it was out of control over a year ago.

I tested my water and my ph came
Back at 7.8 and my alk was near 6 and calcium was at 450.This is with Api test kit. When kinda startled me because my all always use to stay around the 10 range and never had issues with ph sipping low 8. But after reading I was seeing where a lot of ppl were having issues with Xenia in low alk tanks.

My question is how can I safely raise my ph and alk. I was looking into aquavit to 8.4 since it raises both. Any help would be great

What's you mag level? If your mag is too low you'll never be able to keep a high balance of ca and alk as they will just precipitate out of the water. Your mag should be around 1350 to prevent calcium carbonate precipitation.

Ph is a result of alkalinity. Get your alk right and ph will follow. Assuming you don't have an abundance of co2 in your home.
