Bay pipefish bacterial infection

I take care of several different operations for East Bay Regional Parks District in the Bay area, and I'm new to the area and some species I now care for. One of my main jobs is taking care of several saltwater tanks of local species. One tanks has Bay pipefish. The "runt" of the group recently caught what appeared to be a bacterial infection that appeared to be "eating" his skin away just below the dorasl fin. I set up a quarantine tank but was too late to save him.

Prior to my starting the job they were collected. Once in the tank the previous aquarium tech said they weren't being fed enough and anemones in the tank had damaged their tails. The 4 that survived were left with small stumps where their tails were. However they have been fine now for a while, eat well, etc. Unfortunately it looks like the infection on the small, weak pipefish has entered through "stump" area of one of the healthier pipefish now. I have quarantined the affected fish and treated both the Q tank and the original tank with melafix (the only thing currently on hand).

I'm very new to pipefish care (and the job here int eh Bay area). However I have been given a lot freedom with teh aquatic exhibits program and growing it as a whole. Can anyone give me some advice on steps to take to try and save the affected fish and hopefully stop it from spreading? Is there any merit to iodine dips? Thanks and I look forward to posting the forum quite often from now on. :)
