Beginner Coral for Clown fish to host?

Hey, I have a 20 G tank getting started.. I have what I think is a False Clown fish. He is pretty small and all he does is swim up and down all day.. Id like to get an anemone for him. But I'm learning that it takes some experience to keep them alive.

I dont want to jump into getting something that might be beyond my skill level till I am ready. But I am looking forward to having a peaceful tank with the option to add corals..

So I was wondering what the experts would recomend for a starting coral that my clown fish might take a liking to. I think I've read that they like to host certain mushrooms. And mushrooms are the easiest to care for. As for my lighting I have a 15 watt Reef Sun 50/50 bulb that emits 6500k in the Blue spectrum.... Is this sufficient lighting for a 20G tank?

Also I was wondering if Gobies and Clown fish Get along? I want a yellow watchman and diamond goby and also my clown fish. Are they gonna war over more Small 20G tank?

You could try some xenia, but id upgrade your lighting first . 15 watts isnt enough for shrooms or lps.

I've had some Ocellaris take a liking to my toadstool leather. I've heard of them hosting some LPS but I'd be worried about them damaging those. The leathers are easy to grow with low light and seem to be able to handle the abuse.

I would be very careful about clownfish with gobies. I had a ocellaris pair kill a small orange goby (forget the name) in my 90g. They were generally pretty aggressive if anything was in their area. In a different 90 I recently removed a tomato pair that were attacking a much larger butterfly and wrasse. Clownfish are evil

Xenia is really cool looking. What bulb would you recomend?
I think I'm gonna get a dual light fixture next week.

Does the Xenia sting? or does it kill shrimp/crabs/starfish/ or fish?

xenia doesnt sting shrimp/crabs/starfish/ or fish. as for the gobies and clowns, they wont war over it. as long as you dont have to many fish they should be happy. you could probably have a diamond a yellow and a clown and keep them happy IMO. the diamond might get a little big though.

In my case the pair was always spawning and the Female would try and kill everything in sight. I would imagine one wouldn't be nearly as aggressive.

Xenia don't sting and wouldn't hurt anything in the tank.

On a tank that size I would look at a LED Fixture. On bigger setups the prices can get pretty outrageous but the smaller-scale setups are reasonable. There are a lot more options for a tank that size too.

agreed, LED's would be nice for that. or even t'5s.
spawning could be why the clowns killed the goby because usually they seem to get along.
