Besides Dripping Kalk

Besides Dripping Kalk is anyone also using B-Ionic? If so, are you using both the Alk and Calcium? Or one or the other? If so, how many ml per gallon you using? I know it is a long process before I start seeing the Coraline take off, but I thought that adding both would aid and/or benefit the Coraline process. I am currently dripping 24hrs. which also makes up my make up water.

Any help would be appreciated.

You've got a lot of lighting on that 110. Dunno if there is such a thing as too much or not. I have 2x250s on my 150.

More will depend on what you have seeded the tank with and how much. In other words, what was on the rock if anything, and what you've added since.

If not a lot, see if you can't get a few "chips" from Steve or Rod to help things along.

I drip homemade b-ionic. The dosing rate is based on levels, though, not on growth per se. I try to keep things around 400 and 8 for ca and dkh, respectively. Always dose both parts unless you have a gross imbalance you are trying to correct, and even then...

I have 180lbs of liverock currently that had and still has SOME coraline already on it. Hopefully it is enough to start spreading. I will probably start adding B-Ionic since I just having it sitting around anyway. Is it a bad thing if you have to much calcium? Will this slow the coraline process? is it very harmful?

Will cause imbalance with alkalinity which will then affect pH, etc. You should read up in The Chemistry Forum here:

It's more about balance than absolute levels, though you want to target calcium between 375 and 450 or so, lower or higher and you are likely to run into problems.
