Looking for opinions on the subject? What do you think is the best brand out there now. I like some of the rimless tanks, are those good? Thanks

I am a huge fan of the Red Sea Reefer series. Great build quality on the tank and stand. Their customer services is outstanding to boot! Many people on here have them and I do not believe I have heard a complaint or negative comment.

If you want the best quality tank built today, I would purchase a Reef Savvy aquraium. It will cost a arm and leg, but you get what you pay for. These tanks are simply amazing.

Thanks,
Randy

Custom will always be the nicest in terms of quality but if your looking for a cheaper standard aquarium I would check out DSA tanks. They tend to be really high quality for being a non custom built tank. Their overflows are top notch and they use black silicone. Lastly they have really cool dimensions on the tanks they offer.

on rimless,

elos is the best but they are wicked expensive
scaquariums have the best buck for the tank

for custom tank. I think ReefSavy and Miracles have good reputation on building custom tank. Glasscages as as well but not as good as ReefSavy and Miracles

I did have tank built by glasscages and miracles tank a few yrs ago. I am now using Elos.

What are you looking for?

Custom would be Reef Savvy but way high prices and wait times.

Pre-made I like Elos/system but the new Reef octopus aqaurium coming out looks to have potential and be much cheaper.

For just a over the counter I would go Aqueon or possibly Deep Blue.

I will throw the worst is Marineland. I have never seen seams as bad as theirs are.

+1 on the DSA tanks for high quality affordable non-custom.

The stand has 1 button quick release doors, the seems are a high grade back silicon, the seems were nice and clean and the overflow is perfect.

Their customer service is some what lacking. I called 3 times to try and register my warranty, all 3 times they took a message and never called me back...I don't know if my warranty would be honored or not since they essentially thwarted my efforts to register it. The plumbing kit they sent me was missing a rubber washer also, I'm praying the one I used holds.

But the tank was pretty inexpensive for what it is and very well made.

Thanks! Really good responses so far. I need some time to absorb and look at prices.

I'm trying to get near the 200g class or high 100s. One thing I'm not sure I like about the reef savvy is the semi-enclosed top. Is there a good advantage for having one?

Also, is there a life expectancy on aquarium. I have a 90 allglass(I think) now it's about 7 years old, always been filled. Do I need to worry about the seams or the bulkheads going bad over time? not the reason for the upgrade but it'd help push me that way.

Thanks

nevermind I see the rimless reef savvy's now. But stil curious if there is an advantage to have the lip.

Personally I dont like rimless tanks.. I think they look fantastic but water splash is crazy with them.. I also have a jawfish and Wrasses which are jumpers and rimmed tanks are far easier to deal with screens. I have seen some people make screens for rimless but they still distract from the look.
