Best book for digital photography

Any recommendation? I've read somewhere in this forum that named a good book but cannot find where it is.

I thought Bryan Peterson's "Understanding Exposure" is a great place to start. It isn't necessarily a digital photography book, but he does a great job explaining how you can use the different settings of your cam to create the exposure you want.

Langford's Starting Photography: The guide to great images with digital or film.


It's a good one, for starting.

Also take a look at John Shaw's "Closeups in Nature" It's the macro bible. Like Peterson's book it is still geared toward film but there's no difference in the concepts.

Another good one for macros is "Digital Marco Photography" by Ross Hoddinott, a nice bonus is you can get it for less than $20
