Hello all, I'm very new and trying to get as much info as i can. I read a lot of threads and soak up a lot of info, but still don't know how a tank works. I would benefit from a diagram that explaines how the water goes from here into here. Then there into there. You all know the terms. I know some of the terms, but i need to know it all, and the purposes of each component. So I figure a book would be in order. What is the best book for beginners out there?

hands down best beginners book: The Conscientious Marine Aquarist by R. Fenner.

Other really good books:

Reef Invertebrates - Fenner and Calfo
Aquarium Corals - E. Borneman

The Reef Aquarium: Science, Art, and Technology, Vol. 3 by Sprung and Delbeek ~ this is a bit more advanced but a good reference as well

I've have several books but found the following two the most useful:

The Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Robert M. Fenner
This is a pretty comprehensive book with a lot of detail

Natural Reef Aquariums by John H. Tullock
This book is not as comprehensive but has several diagrams that I found very useful when first learning how to set up a marine aquarium.
