best calcium reactor media

I've used A.R.M., Geo-Marine crushed coral, large-grained Carib-Sea sand, and I'm now using the really big Schuran media.

It's all worked just fine for me.

There's some discussion about slightly higher phosphate levels etc. with some brands but I haven't had any problems. Ultimately, I haven't had any problems maintaining my calcium or alkalinity levels with any of them.

The Schuran is kind of interesting. It isn't a crushed coral, it is just pieces of broken coral.

Whatever I get I try to get locally to avoid shipping charges so that might mean Geo-Marine from a LFS, or A.R.M. or Schuran from Aquatic Eco Systems.
