Best Color of Lighting to Bring out Colors?

Hi,

What colors of lighting do macroalgae look the prettiest under? I feel like bluer lighting has made my greens look super dark in the past, but too yellow of lighting will make the red algae and any corals look too washed out. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Personally, I’ve found about a 14k providing the most natural looking color but my experience is limited to the greener algaes for the most part.

So I don’t own a Kessil, I have a ReefBreeders (and I haven’t experimented much with it) but from what I understand with Kessil is the “whitest” setting is typically running whites and blues at 100%. Now the downside to this is if you have coral or other light sensitive items, running 100% right off the bat may be detrimental.

That said, there are other color channels and, though I may be in a minority, I feel the red LED and green LEDs do help pull out those colors in things in the tank.
