Best company to shop for fish?

I would like to know also. Live aquaria seems to be an easy, popluar site. But i guess im looking for more rare and cheaper items. I know that doesnt go together in the saltwater world, but what is more good, respectfull site.

pacific island aquatics, nyaquatics, bluezoo...saltwaterfish.com, imo and ime, has come a long way recently and is worthwhile too...but la/dd, pia, and bz are the best....aquatouch is also good...

La/dd and la are the best if you can get wahat you want from them. PIA seems to get some less usual fish and have a good rep (I haven't used them personally).

Be careful about using price as a primary determinant. Also be sure that guarantees are actually equivalent. A store credit that "expires" is not the same as a money back guarantee. And if you are using price primarily, be sure you have a robust quarantine protocol.

My last shipment at LA/DD was not all that great. Very Poor Packaging, and bad communication which surprised me. They normally are great! I have ordered from thatfish place and was very happy, saltwaterfish.com I was pleased with, and vivid was good. I have had bad luck with bz.

I am also very surprised to hear that about la/dd...
Did you call and mention that to them?

They are a top-notch group with the best customer service anywhere...

I had the same experience a few weeks ago. They ended up giving me my money back on 3 items.

What really bums me out is it was my first order with them. High expectations that were not met....

I'm all about supporting locally, but at that same time I can't help but recommend live aquaria.com, they time and time again prove to have TOP notch customer service, and are genuinely interested in the fish health that they offer. To me any company that goes to such lengths to provide healthy specimens is worth supporting even when it's not local. for me I support local when I can, but everything else I buy directly from liveaquaria.

I as well.

Thanks for all the input. Sounds like I do about what everybody does. I do like live aquaria but I have a local store called Burts Pet Center in Ashland Ky. The owners name is Jim and he's outstanding. I do try to support him when I can.

If at all possible, give a local LFS your business (provided they deserve it).

Unfortunately, in a great many areas., a good LFS just doesn't exist anymore.

I've done business with the Drs. Foster & Smith group (LA, DD, et al.) since they were a little Vets office in northern Wisconsin. I have never seen a better run business or any better customer service. They will do just about anything to make you happy. They are a big operation now and, once in a while, something will go wrong. But they will ALWAYS make it right. They also contribute a great deal to our hobby; and that counts with me to.
