Best food for a Blue Throat Trigger

I have a New Blue Throat about 5 to 6 inches in size. I've tried shrimp and silversides with no luck of him even being interested in eating. I know there are other choices like clams and such but what is maybe the favorite food you feed and how do you process it. I know all are different in eating habits, but I do need some advice from you Blue Throat owners out there. Thanks..

How long has he not been eating? They will generally eat just about anything, provided they aren't frightened. Has he been QT or is he in your main tank? If in the main and new he is probably just getting accustomed to the tank and will show himself more in the next few days. Just keep offering him food and he'll take to it.

Thanks Ruskin, I know I've read that they can be quite shy at first and he is. Little by little he is getting bolder when I'm at the tank feeding and coming out but isn't at all interested in the food. I just placed him in after about a week of QT since he looked so healthy. I've had a agressive tank before full of Triggers,Love the guys actually. Never have I had one that just hangs out like this cool guy. The ones I had before would be eating everything I have in the tank right now so it's kind of funny seeing this guy hanging out and not bothering a thing.

Oh buy the way what do you feed? He has actually at a little bit of Mysis shrimp I should add, but just if they basically float into his mouth,LOL.

I feed a variety of things including, but should warn you I dont have a trigger yet, just been doing lots of research till i settle on one. Most likely a Blue throat as well though. I know a local reefer has been feeding one mysis and nori and his trigger devoured both in short order. I agree, great fish and so interesting to watch. Hope he starts eating again soon for you!
