hey,

i sold my 75g reef and still have my 55g reef.

i would like to start up a nano, in place of the 75g.

what would you say the best size nano would be saying that i wanted three fish(small of course)?

or, whats the coolest nano size?

you don't have to go with a nanocube, you have to mod them anyways. You could always just pick u a 20gal or 29gal and that would be awesome. I really like the dementions of my tank, it's 24" long (same as a 20H) but it's 20" tall which makes it seem alot bigger than it is and give you a little more room to work with. I currently have a candy hogfish, sixline, maroon clown and blue damsel in my tank. Here is a pic of mine, still have to add more corals and stuff but you can see the size.

nice tank amber.

yea i was thinking a 20H would be cool. but it would cost alot of money to buy lights for it, since i want to keep sps and clams.

any suggestions

The 25 gal has the same footprint (they are both 24") as the 20H so it would cost the same, so why not go with 5 more gallons? Lights arn't that bad, my lights were pretty expensive, but if you go with a sunpod of the coralife HOB light it wont cost as much.

Here is the light i have

here are some cheaper options and your could keep SPS and clams

thats true about the 5 more gallons...i think i might buy another tek light...how long is the 25g?

thanks

thanks,

does anyone know what kind of lighting i would need in a standard 5g, so that i could keep any sps nd softies?

cant afford that. highschool student here...my 55 reef is costing me enough!

is there a site where i can get a custom tank...i was thinking a 10g cube would be awesome!
anybody know?

Go with a cube. I love the depth. I just go the 12g cube. It is cute, but I think if I were buying new instead of used I might go with something larger. However, the larger the tank, the more costly it is to fill... honestly, i'm probably better off with this one;)

I'm drifting, though. I think the size depends on you and what you like. Personally, though, I really like the cubes more than the standard aga tanks.

i would like a cube...but you need to build it custom. the smallest oceanic cube is 30g. i wish i could get it but its about $400. and theres no way ill spend that.

any idea of where to get a cube?

Nope. But, I think that Drs. Foster & Smith are running a special for like $89 for a 12g nanocube (not dx) and you could toss a 70w pendant on that (that's my plan.) Or, I think the 12g dx tank is like $169 new. Have no idea on the larger ones, but maybe the 24g might work for you.

Good luck,

go with a 29, i like the lengh alot, and if you go sps you can get a MH and in the sides have some low light corals

could you give me a link on that...i cant find it on there site. and you mean the tank alone is 100?
thats a little steep.

thanks

I saw this in Petsmart last weekend in Princeton, NJ for $199 with the stand. Looks like a very solid tank but already purchased the Aquapod 24 with stand.
