Hello All - I am wondering what your recommendations are for online retailers of coral and saltwater fish. Thanks!

Great question. Following....

I use live aquaria and have had success with eBay

I received an order from unique corals a few months back and was very satisfied in the packaging and delivery....corals were awesome.

For fish, blue zoo hands down; liveaquaria/diver's den was bought by petco. I've gotten good corals from Unique and The Salty Underground. On eBay: SoCal Aquafarms.

I've purchased corals from Cherry Corals and The Coral Dudes, no complaints; and fish from Michael's New York Aquatic, who's been spot-on every time. All my other critters come from LFS.

The quality of LA DD hasn't changed since Petco bought them. There is a sticky addressing the issue. LiveAquaria and Divers Den still provides excellent quality fish, and amazing customer support. BlueZoo and LiveAquaria are pretty much the same as far as quality of fish, but LiveAquaria does have better customer service.

I have to disagree, I knew something was going on before I even knew petco bought it. I received dead fish, dead clams, very stressed corals that whithered in my tanks, fish that were not even close to the size descriptions- ones that were even on dd with pictures. Even though they are good about giving refunds I won't order from them anymore. And their prices have even gotten a little off on dd.

Another vote for LA and divers den. I've been to the divers den facility and it's top notch. Anything from LA is drop shipped from quality marine, which iirc is the largest wholesaler in the country.

KP aquatics, best live rock in the USA, no mobile hitchhikers just fantastic colorful live rock.

+1

I get all my live rock from them. I scored 3 porcelain crabs & a spiny urchin with one order. Picked up some coral last month but have never purchased fish from them. Plenty of reviews on their site & I do not recall seeing a bad one. If there was bad service or product, I'd think buyers would have posted a bad review.

Liveaquaria or any place with a guarantee.
I've actually had good luck at petco. I'd say probably 2/3 have lived. But that's in store. I just quit my part time gig cleaning tanks for a small marine aquarium company. The owner bragged about how good his stock was, but I'd say about 2/3 died within a month. So I strongly recommend buying anywhere that had a warranty. Be prepared for fish to die regardless of where you get them. Don't be surprised if a newer fish dies within the first month or so. That's fairly normal. I find that if a fish makes it 4-6wks, then it's in it for the long haul. Unfortunately I think liveaquaria is the only place that guarantees fish now and that's for only 2 weeks.
Best of luck!

Just got an order from Pacific East Aquaculture. HUGE selection and great prices. Was my first time ordering livestock online and it went well. Just wish overnight shipping didn't cost so much.

X2, If you are in their zone 1 shipping area you can not beat it. Outside of that they still get in some very unique pieces.
