best options for qt?

I'm getting a chevron and a.purple tang soon. I will be putting them into qt and monitoring them. should I do a prozipro dip, treat with copper,or hypo? if the fish are healthy should I just leave them alone? I just want to make sure they are healthy before I put them in the dt .

I'd get them eating well and then do a round or two of Prazipro and possibly metronidazole (NOT AT THE SAME TIME) to get rid of any internal parasites. Keep them in qt for a minumum of 6 weeks. If they have ich or velvet or both it will show up by then. I am treating for both with Cupramine and treatment is going well. One more week to go. Follow the directions carefully and get a Salifert copper test kit. I have tried hypo, but that only works for ich and not velvet. It sucks when you have a fish that you bring down to hypo to treat ich and then velvet shows up. Then you have to slowly bring them out of hypo to treat the velvet with copper. With cupramine, I was able to treat the fish in hypo and slowly over a course of 6 days bring them up to normal salinity and continue using cupramine for the velvet. After I remove the cupramine, I will treat with prazipro and then Metronidazole. Then the fish will go in the display if nothing else shows up in 4 weeks after the copper treatment stopped. When you do a water change, you need to make sure you add the right amount of copper with the newly added water to keep the levels up.

let the fish settle in for a week in QT. get them feeding.

then do tank transfer for tangs, as they almost all have ich.

then treat with prazipro, and wait for 4 weeks and observe. if all good, release them into the reef. if not, treat as needed and wait another 4 weeks for observation.

This. Prazipro is all over, I get mine through Drs. Foster and Smith.
