Best place to buy a new tank?

Go Recyler or Pennysaver for used tanks but be careful because many LPS put their ads in there. If you want a quality built system at wholesale, I would suggest oceanproaquatics.com. They don't have anything online but I called them and asked. I went to their warehouse and they build huge custom built tanks of all sizes. I just had a small 180 acrylic built but got a killer deal!
Fujimoto and Kim aren't that great but if you want acrylic, I would suggest SeaClear or Clear for Life if oceanpro can't take your order. They seem to get pretty busy often.

Go to Coral Oasis. I just got my tank there. A custom 70g (VISIO)with 3 holes drilled for $220. Anthony at Passion of the Sea gave me a quote about 4 months ago that was similar, when I was ready to buy his price just about doubled and never called me back after I left my contact info and wanted to give him my business. Another burned out LFS reefer IMO...the few times I've visited he doesn't even turn on his lights anymroe. Very disappointed.

What makes Fujimoto and kim not so great tanks compared to others?

Fujimoto has horrible glue job on their glass tanks.
