best plant for refug...

i have a small 10 gal refug i want to run on my 180 FO...

how should i set it up??

as far as sand bed...rock and plants??

I would only use a thin layer of sand. You can toss some rubble in there as well. Plants like codium and chaeto work well for me because they stay together. As for a light, on a 10 gallon, I have used a clip on shroud "shop light" with a full spectrum bulb from Walmart.

For a light, you can also use a stock fluorescent hood light for a 10 as well. You don't need super intense light for macro. The spectrum should be 5500-6500K if you can get it. (Zoo med bulbs are cheap)

"They" say--Less than 1" or more than 4". In-between can cause detritus to get trapped.

That's A LOT of sand!!

Did you ever check the sand bed calculator at GARF.org? It will help you figure out how much you may need.

i use chaeto in some rubbermaid tubs and i have 4' shop lights over using grow bulbs (T8).

it has half the current of a mag 9 running there a 10 gal... then spilling back to the sump.

im going to get so plants tommrow ...
