Best Protein Skimmers?

A buddy of mine is looking at starting up a 30gallon salt water tank. He is looking to spend $100 on the protein skimmer. I was wondering if you could recommend one. I have always used a remora and liked it. He asked about a sea clone.

While some report success with Seaclone, most do not. I bought a used one once just to play with and was quite disapointed. Could never get it to work.

I use the Remora Pros and love them for a HOB skimmer. They get my vote, though even the standard Remora is a bit more than $100. IMO it's worth it.

The Octopus HOB is the best one to date. The prizm works but needs constant adjustment. The Ramora works but not nearly as well as the octopus HOB Needle wheel. The Rio Nano works well on 29 gallon bio cubes as well as 20 gallon tanks. For 30 you might need 2. Not a ton of skim but they work unlike a sea con.

ohh never used one but i hear the Deltec HOB is awesome but it's outt my price range.
